what your child will learn
Kids learn what money is, why we use it, and the three things you can do with it — spend, save, and give. From there, they set personal goals, plan and budget for something big like a party, and get a first hands-on taste of auctions and investing. Each idea is introduced through discussion, then brought to life with games and activities.

about the instructor
I'm Elizaveta Shafir, a mom of two and a personal finance guide working toward the Accredited Financial Counselor® (AFC®) credential. I am also a certified NeuroIntegration coach.
Like many of us, I had very little financial education as a child and had to figure out a lot on my own as an adult. That's why I'm passionate about teaching kids how money works early, while it still feels like a game.
Last school year, I taught the personal finance class for Galileo Studio students. This fall, I'm opening it to all families, and Galileo students are welcome too. I teach in Russian and English.
I work at Google and hold a master's degree from MIT.
